Although completely blind, Larry uses AllsystemsMax Shop Management Software to manage his repair shop,  D&D Automotive in Cottage Grove, OR., where he also mentors a deaf high school student who is learning to be an automotive technician.

In early 2007 he appeared on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric and in newspaper stories around the world.
